Abbreviations & Acronyms

Took me a while to get to grips with all these - so I hope this list will help many! (These are widely used on the IVF communities on Twitter where you are limited to 140 characters)

2WW - two week wait, After ET

AF - Aunt Flo (Period)

BD - baby dance

BFN - big fat negative (Not pregnant)

BFP - big fat positive (HPT or OPK test result)

CD - cycle day (CD1 is first day of AF)

CM - cervical mucous

CP - cervical position

DH - dear husband

DPO - days past ovulation
EC - Egg Collection
ET - Embryo Transfer (When an embryo is implanted inside)

FF- fertility friend

FRER - First response early result

HPT-home pregnancy test

IB - implantation bleeding

IPS - Imaginary Pregnancy Symptoms

IUI - intra-uterine insemination

IVF-in vitro fertilization

O - ovulate

OPK - ovulation predictor kit
OTD - Official Test Day

PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome

PGD - Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis

POAS - pee on a stick (to take an HPT or OPK)

RE - Reproductive Endocrinologist

SA - semen analysis

TTC - trying to conceive

US - ultrasound
